Literary contest for young adults

A literary contest entitled "Literature for Young Adults", aimed at promoting Maltese literature for adolescents is being organised by the Parliamentary Secretariat for Youth and Sport and the National Book Council.

The National Book Council, which is aware of an acute shortage of books for adolescents in Maltese, is hoping that through this contest, a good number of promising manuscripts would accumulate over the years, and would in due course, find their way into print.

Authors, aged between 12 and 17, are free to create teenage situations. The work should be in Maltese, original and unpublished. It should never have been submitted to a publisher. Each manuscript should not be less than 20,000 words and not more than 25,000 words.

Further information can be obtained by e-mailing: info@ktieb.org.mt.
