A visit to London can be compared to a world tour, yet still reflects the traditional life in Britain. London is home to people from all corners of the world. It has something to offer to everyone. Interesting old buildings, beautiful parks and gardens, some of the finest museums and monuments in the world, a fine range of sporting and recreational facilities, some of the best theatres in the world, Opera houses, crowded popular shopping streets with all the famous shops, Royal palaces, smoky pubs, one of the largest zoos and last but not least the Old Docklands bringing memories of the past distant oceans amidst the once grimy alleys, which have undergone dramatic changes, yet still retaining all the past which echoes as you wander the streets.

All together they make London the city of great contrast and variety.

The weather in London is not as bad as its reputation suggests, in fact there many days during the year where it does not rain at all, except in November and December. The population is around 7 million explaining why it is one of the largest cities in the world. However the city of London is often referred to as the square mile and only covers approximately 5000 inhabitants.
London is home to evening entertainment, with music lovers particularly well catered for. Soho the area of strip clubs, with renowned clubs like Raymond Revue in Brewer Street probably the best known. But there plenty of other pubs, clubs bars and restaurants. For outdoor enthusiasts, rowing boats in Hyde Park or Regents Park, Richmond Park for horse riding. Canal trips are pleasant especially along Regents canal, or why not take a night cruise on the Thames? Whatever your tastes and liking London has them all, no wonder it is referred to as the center of the world-s navel. Shopping is a must in London especially during Christmas time with all the wonderfully lit streets and colorful shops, noone can miss this shopping Mecca.
Particularly Oxford street London’s busiest and most popular street extending as far as Tottenham court road known for bargains related to Hi -Fi.and electronic goods. However the department stores in Oxford Street, fashion shops and stores will keep anyone busy amazed with the fantastic bargains. London is by far one of the most interesting cities in the world. Highly respected music, dance and drama colleges in London include the Royal academy of Dramatic Art, the Royal College of Music, the Royal Ballet School, and the London Contemporary Dance School.
Transport is essential to the operation of a city such as London. Its very development was significantly affected by the advent of the railways, and more recently the construction of roads has influenced patters of settlement and economic activity. London has one of the most extensive urban railway systems in the world, in addition to the Underground railway; there is a network of suburban railways covering London and the surrounding region. Most travel is done by Underground rail, although there is also considerable commuting by car, particularly in the outer boroughs, London has about 19000 licensed taxis.
Railway services from London to Paris or Brussels through the Channel Tunnel run from the terminal at Waterloo station.
London is definitely the Capital City not to be missed by anyone who enjoys life.
