The BOV Istrina campaign 2008 is now in its final stages, with more than 70,000 students enthusiastically collecting funds in the piggy banks distributed to schools around Malta and Gozo. Collection of the piggy banks will start on Monday.

Mary Fenech Adami joined the Istrina team in an official visit to St Martin’s College in Swatar where she was greeted by schoolchildren and members of the school administration.

Teachers have also been very supportive of the event as they encouraged students to make small donations from their pocket money to support this national campaign of solidarity.

The amount of money collected during this year’s campaign will be announced during the transmission of Istrina 2008 on December 27.
