Head of Marketing and Public Relations - Libya

Our client is a leader in banking and financial services, with a significant and growing presence in Europe, the United States and Asia. They have one of the largest international banking networks, a presence in over 85 countries and over 160,000 employees. They have recently taken control of an established operation in Libya and are currently undergoing structural changes. As a result they are seeking committed individuals to form part of their top management team. Head of Marketing and Public Relations MT 0889

The Head of Marketing and Public Relations will be responsible for projecting the positive elements of change process to both internal and external stakeholders. This will involve providing a strategic, tactical and proactive approach to support the organisation in delivering its message. You will be expected to influence grapevine information and constantly communicate with all levels within the organisation by creating and implementing internal and external communication programmes that effectively describe and promote the organisation’s services. In this role you will also be heavily involved in strengthening the brand identity in line with corporate guidelines across all channels of communication. You will also be responsible for communicating clearly the Bank’s various products and services.

In this role you will also project manage and organise displays, conferences and seminars. You will create detailed plan of work such that priorities are addressed, efficiencies from interaction with other projects are realised and boundaries between projects and aligned functional teams are clearly understood. In addition you will also be responsible for monitoring and fulfilling the PR and communication activities within the allocated budget as well as providing regular reports to the executive committee on communications.
You will also play a key part in positioning the organisation as the centre of excellence for innovation in learning and development in support of corporate social responsibility.

The ideal candidate will have a tertiary level of education with a proven track record in managing public and media relations at a senior level, preferably within the financial services sector. You will have a sound business acumen and a strong background in international business and marketing. You will also be a professional with initiative and drive having excellent interpersonal and presentation skills. Fluency in both English and Arabic is essential for this position. International work experience would be considered an asset.
