Hanwang grieves lost children

Parents in the town of Hanwang in China's earthquake-ravaged southwest grieve for their children at a collapsed school.

Hundreds of soldiers searched through the rubble at the collapsed Beiqi Middle School in Hanwang, attended by some thousand students. As the hours passed, corpses outnumbered the survivors pulled from the debris. Authorities fear the death toll from Monday's 7.9 magnitude earthquake could exceed 50,000.
