Beirut calm but fighting in Tripoli


Calm returns to the streets of Beirut after days of fighting as the Lebanese army takes over security control.

Hezbollah fighters have pulled back from areas they'd seized in deadly gun battles with supporters of the US-backed government. But Hezbollah says it will continue a programme of civil disobedience in the capital. Clashes raged overnight in Lebanon's second city, Tripoli, where there was fierce fighting between gunmen for and against the government.
