Firefighters filmed quickly putting out flames from a burning car in Ta' Xbiex have been praised for their swift response to the emergency.

A video posted to Facebook on Saturday afternoon showed a Civil Protection Department fire truck arriving at the scene where a saloon car had gone up in flames.

As bystanders look and and film with their mobile phones, a firefighter gets to work putting out the fire.

The danger was nullified within a couple of minutes.

“Very good,” an onlooker can be heard saying of the CPD. “They must have arrived in three minutes,” another man agrees.

The man who uploaded the video also said firefighters had arrived within minutes.
“Well done Civil Protection!” he said.
