No to Plastic Malta and Cinexjenza will be hosting a number of public screenings of the documentary A Plastic Ocean during the months of April to June.

The award-winning film, about the impact of plastic on our oceans, was described by Sir David Attenborough as “one of the most important films of our time”.

The documentary follows an international team of adventurers, researchers and ocean ambassadors  on a mission around the globe to uncover the shocking truth about what is lurking beneath the surface of our seemingly pristine oceans.

It brings to light the consequences of our global disposable lifestyle and shows never-before-seen images of marine life, plastic pollution and its ultimate consequences for not only human health but our planet.

This screening is supported by the Deparment of Biology at the University of Malta, Malta Aquarium, Birdlife Malta, Nature Trust Malta and Atlam Subaqua Club.

The first screening will be held today at noon as part of Science in the Citadel in Victoria. Other screenings will take play on Thursday, May 4, at 7pm at the Royal British Legion Valletta; Thursday, May 18 at 9pm at Atlam Subaqua Club – Baħar ic-Ċagħaq and Thursday, June 8, at 8pm at the Malta National Aquarium in Qawra. Entrance to all screenings is free. For more information, visit www.plasticoceans. org/film/.
