Johnson: Glen Johnson has signed a one-year contract extension with Stoke. The former England defender, whose previous deal was due to expire this summer, is now committed to the Potters until 2018. The 32-year-old right-back, whose past clubs include Chelsea and Portsmouth, joined the club on a free transfer from Liverpool in 2015. Johnson, who won 54 England caps, made his 50th appearance for Stoke in Saturday’s Premier League victory over Hull.

Bastia: Bastia have closed one of their stands as a response to the crowd trouble that forced an early end to their clash with Lyon at the Stade Armand Cesari on Sunday. Videos online appeared to show the home fans entering the pitch to “attack” visiting players before the game, with further trouble at half-time forcing the game to be abandoned at 0-0.

Darmstadt: Defender Fabian Holland has committed his future to Bundesliga strugglers Darmstadt despite the club being under the threat of relegation. The 26-year-old left-back has signed a deal to keep him at the club until June 2020 after seeing his side cling on to their Bundesliga status with a dramatic win over Schalke on Sunday.

Kalinic: Fiorentina striker Nikola Kalinic has received a two-match ban by the Serie A Disciplinary Commission. The Croatian striker was punished after he was dismissed by the referee after the final whistle of his team’s 2-1 defeat to Empoli for dissent.  He received two-match bans for insulting the referees. Kalinic will miss his team’s matches against Inter and Palermo.
