Yiannos Michaelides, who recently stepped down as GO chief executive officer, has been made a non-executive director at HSBC Bank Malta, replacing Philip Farrugia Randon who has been on the board since 2004.

At the bank’s recent annual general meeting, Sonny Portelli was reappointed as chairman, with Andrew Beane, Christopher Davies, Andrew Muscat, Alison Hewitt and Mr Michaelides appointed by the majority shareholder.

Since only three persons were nominated for election, John Bonello, Gordon Cordina and Mary Anne sive Sue Vella were automatically elected as directors by the minority shareholders.

With the exception of Mr Beane, all the directors are non-executive directors.
