Soprano Dorothy Baldacchino will perform various songs and arias during a lunchtime concert in Valletta tomorrow.

Baldacchino will perform the endearing song The Last Rose of Summer, Gabriel Fauré’s Chanson d’amour and Jules Massenet’s Nuit d’Espagne.  The programme ensues with Franz Schubert’s Du bist die Ruh and two arias by Edwards Grieg: Solvejgs Lied, Op. 23, No. 1 and Ich Liebe Dich.  She will also sing a Spanish arias by Enrique Granados, El majo discrete and Leonard Bernstein’s Piccola Serenata.

Baldacchino will be accompanied by pianist Irina Fedcenko-Carbonaro and clarinettist Kevin Tonna, who will perform Johannes Brahms’s Sonata in F major, Op. 120, No.2, 1st & 2nd movement and Paul Hindemith’s Sonata, 3rd & 4th movement.

The event aims to raise funds for the St Francis of Assisi church.

The concert will be held tomorrow at the oratory of St Francis of Assisi church in Valletta at 12.30pm. Tickets can be obtained from the venue itself half an hour before the concert begins. For more details, call 7968 0952 or send an e-mail to baroccomalta@gmail.com.
