Castille Institute is organising a course entitled ‘Advanced Forex Trading’ on May 2, 9, 16 and 31 between 1pm and 5pm.

Through the use of classroom-based teaching combined with computer-based simulations and exercises, the course will offer delegates a thorough practical understanding and solid technical coverage of the workings of the Forex market.

It begins by introducing the background and operation of Forex trading, breaks down the basic Forex market mechanics, introduces one to essential Forex trading terminology and continues into looking at sample Forex trades by diving into specifics of technical and fundamental analysis. It concludes with computer-based simulations and exercises through the use of various trading platforms in use on the spot market.

Topics presented during the course will include: models of success and historical evidence on buying and selling patterns, how to understand volatility of return on the foreign currency exchange, the price behaviour of currency and technical tools for analysis, including Japanese Candlesticks and Fibonacci numbers.

The course will offer delegates a thorough practical understanding and solid technical coverage of the workings of the Forex market

Students will learn how to determine market movements through the correct use of various interpretive and analytical exercises, including the interpretation of support and resistance levels, currency trend analysis on short and long-term time frames and the use of various fundamental and technical indicators.

The importance of sound risk management will also be examined and reinforced throughout the course, which is being delivered by Michel Said, a former director at Barwa Bank Group’s investment banking division in the State of Qatar.

Mr Said is an investment banker with more than 12 years of experience, specialising in investment banking and Islamic finance. He began his career with PriceWaterhouseCoopers in their Milan and Malta offices serving as senior manager.  Prior to this appointment, he was a fund portfolio manager for a series of equity and fixed income funds for an international financial services institution.

He now lectures and consults on all aspects of Forex and capital markets, working with central banks, commercial and investment banks, institutional investors and hedge fund managers.
