Every year, Dwal Ġodda troupe infuses a different theatrical breath of life into the traditional Good Friday procession, which in their home village of Għargħur is held on Palm Sunday.

An elaborate open-air stage along the church parvis is being erected for this drama, which this year takes its starting-shot from a bomb that did not explode 75 years ago.

The Nazarene had several explosive encounters – even with the devil himself.

The traditional Good Friday procession links the two acts.

At dusk, the second act of Radam starts with a contrast between the statues and the seven deadly sins, with a strange eighth sin, particular to Malta, added.

Radam is being held in the square and streets of Għargħur on Sunday between 4.30 and 9.30pm. Entrance is free of charge.

Those who want to delve deeper into the line of thought of this year’s production can also attend one of two other performances, tomorrow and Wednesday at Spazju Teatrali in Għargħur at 7.30pm.
