The second tour being organised by Din l-Art Ħelwa will be held at Majjistral Park in Mellieħa this week.

Taking advantage of the park’s splendour at this time of the year, the park is becoming a kaleidoscope of colour and regeneration/rebirth. Furthermore, participants may enjoy the splendid sea views of this Natura 2000 coastline.

Ian Camilleri, a volunteer with DLĦ, is coordinatiing this tour in collaboration with Darren Saliba, the ranger at Majjistral park.

The tour is being held on Saturday, April 8.  Participants are requested to meet at the Visitors’ Centre for a welcoming briefing by the park’s guide.

The tour will start at 9.15am with a briefing session at the Visitors’ centre. The park’s guide will lead the participants on a one-and-a-half-hour walk, during which the main features of the park’s flora and fauna will be explained.

The tour will end with tea or coffee at about 12.15pm. It is suggested that participants wear appropriate walking shoes and bring a bottle of water with them.

Bookings will be on a first-come-first-served basis (maximum 30 participants).  A donation of €10 is to be paid in advance to secure booking.  All proceeds will go towards restoration and conservation projects. For bookings, call Rosanne or Annmarie on 2122 5952 or send an e-mail to admin@dinlarthelwa.org.   Bookings close on Wednesday. Cheques should be made payable to Din l-Art Ħelwa. Parking is available at the entrance to the park.
