Roderick Grech, the 26-year-old man who was critically injured when he was stabbed on Wednesday, has died, the police said this morning.

Mr Grech was found lying in a pool of blood on the pavement in Tumas Fenech Street, Birkirkara early on Wednesday.

Police believed he was involved in a drug-related argument.

A man suspected to be the assailant was arrested on Wednesday morning in connection with a separate case.

In August 2012, the victim had admitted his involvement in an armed robbery of The Convenience Shop in Birkirkara.
