Fort St Angelo will open for a reduced price of €2 on March 31, Freedom Day, and the opening times will be extended by an hour, Heritage Malta said.
This will give regatta enthusiasts the opportunity to follow the races from the fort’s impressive bastions.
The regatta is a traditional rowing event held twice yearly in the Grand Harbour.
The programme starts at 1pm. Rowers participate in 10 races under two categories using typical traditional Maltese boats such as frejgatini, kajjikki, dgħajjes tal-pass and tal-midalji.
Visitors to the fort will have the opportunity to visit the upper part, managed by the Sovereign Military Order of Malta.
Apart from the normal guided tour held every day at 11am, another two extra guided tours will be organised, at noon and 1pm.
Tickets cost €5 (adults), €3 (students and seniors), and €1.50 (children between five and 12). tThey can be purchased online from Heritage Malta’s website or museums and sites.
Fort St. Angelo will open its gate between 9am and 6pm, last entry at 5.30pm.
