Ademi: Dinamo Zagreb and Macedonia midfielder Arijan Ademi has had his doping ban reduced from four years to two by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), the sporting tribunal said yesterday. The 25-year-old tested positive for stanozolol following his team’s 2-1 Champions League win over Arsenal in September 2015. CAS said he blamed it on a “supplement he had been prescribed following an injury (that) had been contaminated with the banned substance.”

Fined: Manchester City have been fined £35,000 by the English FA after they accepted a misconduct charge for the way their players reacted to a 50th minute penalty in the 1-1 Premier League draw with Liverpool on March 20. City were charged by the FA last week after their players surrounded referee Michael Oliver who had awarded Liverpool a spot kick following a foul by Gael Clichy on Roberto Firmino.

Higuain: Argentina have replaced suspended striker Gonzalo Higuain with Sao Paulo’s Lucas Pratto in a much-changed side to face Bolivia in tonight’s World Cup qualifier in La Paz, said coach Edgardo Bauza. Higuain was cautioned in Thursday’s 1-0 home win over Chile and is suspended for the Bolivia match, along with fellow regulars Javier Mascherano, Lucas Biglia and Nicolas Otamendi, all of whom picked up yellow cards.

Sanchez: Arsenal attacker Alexis Sanchez was given a speeding ticket and must appear in court after being clocked driving at 155 kilometres per hour in the Buin area, south of Santiago, during a free afternoon given to the Chile national team. Police fined Sanchez on Saturday, and his court date was set for April 12.

Dawson: Hull's survival fight has been given a boost with skipper Michael Dawson set to return to full training. The 33-year-old defender, who has missed the Tigers' last six matches due to a calf injury, is expected to join back up with Marco Silva's squad this week.
