Dr Muscat told Nationalist MP Ċensu Galea in reply to a question, that the Water Services Corporation workforce was 912 in 2013, 975 in 2014, 968 in 2015 and 987 last year.

He said that during the last four years, the corporation enjoyed a financial turnaround and instead of losing money it was now registering a profit.

This year the WSC would open three new treatment centres producing seven million cubic metres of new water from drainage.

Dr Muscat said that while production would be increased by 33 per cent, the WSC would be keeping the same level of employees.
