Castille Institute is organising a two-day workshop entitled ‘Cash Flow Analysis and Credit Risk Assessment’ on April 11 and 12.

The workshop will determine the operating and financial strength of a company.  Linking operational and financial issues gives a strong analysis and protection against unreliable financials and weak business plans. Finally, participants will be able to judge level and predictability of future cash flows and to assess a risk rating by hand.

The course will also help the borrower set reasonable goals in terms of financial condition and growth and selecting a strategy when a borrower is facing financial difficulties.

It will give clear conclusions and recommendations to credit committees and management.

After finishing the workshop, all participants will be able to:

■ Assess industry and business risks of a client.

■ Think in terms of cash flows:  predictability and size of future cash flows.

■ Analyse cash flows, the debt burden and liquidity.

■ Proactive relationship management:  Help the borrower to set reasonable goals.

■ Make a financial projection to assess future cash flows.

■ Assess management quality and reliability of financials.

■ Understand the impact of the corporate strategy on the future performance.

■ Assess a risk rating independent from the computer.

This workshop is being delivered by Erik de Jong. Mr de Jong has worked for 22 years with ING Bank in the area of credit risk management as full-time trainer, manager and analyst.
