The Trio Incantare is today performing in a concert entitled Woodwind Colours as part of the Gaulitana festival.
The trio, made up of Elisabeth Tavernaro (flute), Peter Tavernaro (oboe) and Florian Grießer (piano), was founded in 2013 with the idea of bringing beautiful salon music of the 19th century to stage. They also perform pieces from other epochs with arrangements in the style of salon music.
Tonight’s programme will consist of works for flute, oboe and piano by Bach, Kalliwod, Douglas, Dring, Vinée and Demersseman.
Tomorrow, the festival continues with a recital entitled Violin and Poet... A Cappella by violinist Reggie Clews, assistant concertmaster of the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra, and poet Alfred Grech, who will provide some interludes during the recital, which will feature works by Bach, Telemann, Paganini and Ysaye.
■ Woodwind Colours is being held today at the Ministry for Gozo Hall, Victoria, at 7.30pm while Violin and Poet… A Capella is being held tomorrow at the Rotunda Church Museum in Xewkija at 7.30pm.
