Xarabank’s recent show continued to add credence to the idea that sanity is becoming ever scarcer in public discourse and policy formation. So much so that our leaders, governmental and ‘spiritual’ alike seem to have tacitly agreed on the terms of surrender to Islam.

The programme saw a panel of four debating whether Islam should be state-taught alongside Christianity. They failed to mention however, that this decision appears to have already been made by our ‘progressive’ government, rendering the whole debate more of a conceptual lubrication to ease the public into accepting their fate – one of compliance and obedience to their own demise. Indeed, the state has quietly indicated its submission to an archaic religious ideology that has reliably produced misery everywhere it has infected.

To everyone’s disbelief, no doubt, Malta’s Archbishop also boarded the appeasement bandwagon, and declared his hopes for the “Muslim religion to enter into an agreement with the government, so that Muslim parents can benefit from governmental support, as Catholics do”. One can speculate as to the real motivation behind such comments, but taking this at face value is the only reasonable thing to do at this point.

Prior to this phone conversation, the Imam had just finished talking about how the current system is “discriminatory toward Muslim students and goes against the values that everyone openly advocates”, to which Frank Portelli responded: “It is not discriminatory as this convention guarantees that one may pray in the street.” Portelli added that the Muslim religion should not be taught also due to sharia (law).

The Imam then reacted, saying that the government “would not accept a curriculum that would go against the Constitution – and regarding sharia, we can agree on it and remove from it if it is a problem or is in conflict”.

Is this a statement declaring that “God’s law” is suddenly up for negotiation? And are we to see more of such discussions in Islamic countries? After all, Christians, atheists, Jews and a plethora of other religious minorities are far from being the majority in say Jordan or Saudi Arabia. Something tells me this prospect is entirely non-existent.

This is an unprecedented development – one that should be very sobering for those doubtful of the Islamic encroachment on western civilisation. Sharia means law - God’s law. There is no mucking around with ‘God’s law’. So when it is clearly stated that Islam and some form of Sharia will be subsidised by the state, then your alarm bells should be ringing very loudly.

Adding to this collective madness is the Archbishop’s claim that Islam should now be taught in Christian schools too – what could possibly go wrong? Make no mistake, these unilateral concessions are just futile attempts at appeasement and are inadvertently feeding a fundamentally supremacist religious ideology, which if accommodated enough, will be the last thing Malta does as a free country.

Naturally, the feminist, liberal hive mind will not raise even the slightest opposition to this prospect, as it directly contradicts their delusions for a multicultural utopia with total oversight from their own god – the state. These leftist elitists, who apparently have John Lennon’s Imagine on repeat in their one-track minds, can’t seem to realise that Islam, as it currently stands has no place in civilised society.

You can remain blind to creeping sharia if you wish, but I assure you it will not be ignoring you

The set of ideas characterised by this backward religion are completely antithetical to every western freedom we here possess – free speech, women’s rights, the separation of Church and state, LGBT rights… I could go on.

And those who would be considered influential voices in the Islamic world have repeatedly revealed their intentions too. In fact, several Muslim theorists have argued three strategies Islam is using against the West. They are going to conquer us through the womb of their women (just listen to Erdogan calling on Muslims in the west to have at least five kids); through Hijra, which is the Arabic word for migration/immigration (Merkel’s suicidal open door immigration policy that saw millions of undocumented, predominantly, Muslim migrants enter Europe); and by using our “miserable freedoms” against us (as repeatedly stated by the now imprisoned Imam Anjem Choudary).

You can remain blind to creeping sharia if you wish, but I assure you it will not be ignoring you. And indeed, Islam speaks a great deal about minority rights and ‘discrimination’ when it is in the minority, but when it becomes the majority, those same rights go out the window, along with a few arms and legs of LGBT people.

Tell me, homosexuals, which Muslim majority country do you wish to live in? I’m dying to know, or rather the west is. Liberals, is the non-word ‘islamophobia’ a bigger issue than the hatred and bigotry condoned by Islam against Jews, gays, atheists and so-called apostates?

Feminists, which Muslim majority country gives women anything even remotely resembling the amount of freedoms you have in the west, or is Ayaan Hirsi Ali an inconvenient role model? Christians, are you so complacent, so passive as to allow your so-called leaders to surrender your country and your values for you without any opposition?

Manifestly, the desire for a free people to become serfs does not go away once you dilute their identity through the removal of religion. It simply shifts to a more simplistic and worse ideology – one without self-criticism, yet filled with a deep-seated contempt of one’s own culture, followed by a desire to tear it all down and leave an alluring void.

Opinion writer Jeremy Camilleri drew attention to the responsibilities of the state during the programme, saying that “we can all agree that everybody has the right to choose their own religion, but what warrant does the state have to provide religious teachings?” Despite this being a reasonable position to hold, bear in mind that if followed through this policy would remove yet another barrier, inevitably paving the way for a more aggressive ideology to replace it.

Clearly, although there are many law-abiding, moderate Muslims (and indeed one must always make the distinction between the set of ideas of Islam, and those who call themselves Muslims) Christianity is an obstacle for Islam, and therefore it seeks to undermine it in every possible way.

Aristotle himself once said that “tolerance and apathy are the last virtues of a dying society”. These historic symptoms of a laid-back and indifferent people seem destined to repeat themselves through the nihilistic tendencies characterising our moral and cultural relativism.

Those useful idiots who would take any opportunity to disparage and demean law-abiding Christians (with no ulterior motives), while fully ignoring the regressive, archaic, and morally repulsive practices committed in the name of Islam are cowards and hypocrites, and must be called out. Shame on you while you do this.

Psychology professor Jordan Peterson asserts that there are only three states a person can occupy – that of submission, conflict or negotiation. Will you stand up for your country while conversation is still possible, or will you forgo the chance and let history decide? The choice is yours.
