The number four is destined to be a prominent number in the destiny of the Labour Party.
First we had the “fourth floor”, highlighted by the then deputy leader of the party.
Now we have what seems to be the battle for the “fourth” electoral district between Konrad Mizzi and Chris Fearne.
It is unfair on Fearne for Mizzi to pull in voters into the Water Services Corporation. Mizzi should have consulted with Fearne for them to divide the spoils and tell the lucky people that their employment is thanks to the two ministers. However, things in Malta do not work that way, it seems.
I admit Fearne is indebted to Mizzi for his ministerial position but I think Fearne is angry about Mizzi signing all the contracts (even the medical ones).
I understand that this anger resulted in Fearne’s non-attendance to some ‘medical’ function in Gozo.
Mizzi, of course, has some advantage over Fearne because he is, it seems, the Prime Minister’s blue-eyed boy. Mizzi, of course, also has to prepare the “Pan-ama onslaught”.
The fourth electoral district should not bother the Nationalist Party, after all it was always a Labour stronghold and in-fighting there should not be any cause for headlines in the PN press.
