At some point, most of us have read about a social issue here in Malta and felt the need to help or contribute in some way. From problems with traffic, to elderly not given the respect they deserve, issues with bullying, poverty, social issues, environmental issues, rubbish in our seas, living conditions for refugees, well the list goes on and on, really.

Enter the Social Impact Awards which ask organisations, social enterprises and individuals to come forward with a social project that could have a positive impact on Malta.

The awards, organised by The Gasan Foundation and Inspirasia Foundation, are an initiative that aims to give more opportunities to social projects. By bringing companies and philanthropists together we wish to offer financial and non-financial support to develop and materialise a project that will have a positive social impact in Malta.

Last year the first Social Impact Awards took place in October and were a collaboration between Maltese businesses and foundations. The initiative, a first of its kind for Malta, was a huge success and noted as a much-needed initiative in Malta to offer new funding opportunities for social projects.

We are looking for innovative ideas that can have a sustainable and positive impact on Malta. We want to see changes and we want you to be part of it. The Social Impact Awards are offering €40,000 to a winning project along with non-financial support and mentoring to the finalists.

An e-mail with an expression of interest should be sent by April 28 and the full application by May 29.
