I thought that the simmering debate about God’s existence contrived by John Guillaumier out of thin air was dead and buried, but it is still being disputed. I cannot understand why he unashamedly keeps going against the grain.
However, I will let others express their views about the existence of God.
“There is indeed a variety of reasons and positions to prove that there is a powerful case for God. Intellectually and currently Christianity is experiencing something of a rebirth. It is not unfair to speak of a veritable resurrection of theism” – William Lane Craig.
“In recent years, there has been a noticeable increase in the number of intellectuals who embrace historic Christianity as a rational world view” – philosopher J. P. Moreland.
It is to be noted that in the second quote the denomin-ation of faith is categorically specified – Christianity.
Lord Byron’s words seem to be written explicitly for our friend. Those who will not reason, are bigots, those who cannot, are fools and those who dare not, are slaves.
St Augustine De Trinitate had said: “God is more truly imagined than expressed and He exists more truly than He is imagined.”
I am very sorry that Guillaumier takes pleasure in noting that the Church in Ireland is on a gradual downslide but I am sadder still that he cannot partake of our future eternal bliss as “no eyes have ever seen, no ears have heard things beyond the mind of man”. All that God has prepared for those who love him (Cor. 9:1).
