A man died and another was hospitalised after suffering suspected carbon monoxide poisoning at a private residence in Msida this morning.

The incident happened in Achille Ferris Street, close to the Msida skate park.

The two men, both foreign, are believed to have suffered carbon monoxide poisoning inhalation from a barbeque left going overnight in an apartment used by nine men. They used the barbeque as a heater.

The identity of the victim has not yet been confirmed. The man who has been hospitalised is a 31-year-old from Mali.

Investigations are under way.
