Din l-Art Ħelwa has invited classic guitar virtuoso Liat Cohen to perform tomorrow in celebration of the completion of the restoration of the four side altars of Our Lady of Victory church in Valletta.

Known as the “princess of the classical guitar”, Cohen’s playing has been described as “delicate, sensual, inventive, personal and virtuosic”. She is considered to be one of the most important guitarists in the world today and is the first classical guitarist to receive the Nadia and Lili Boulanger Prize awarded by the Fondation de France.

Her transcriptions for guitar of Bach have received much acclaim. She has performed and collaborated with prestigious conductors worldwide and many of her performances were broadcast live on national TV stations and radios.

On this occasion, she will perform music by Bach, Villa Lobos , Granados, de Asis Tárrega, Verdi, Rodrigo, Ramírez, Lauro, Koshkin and Albéniz.
