Malta Public Transport has made frequency changes to a number of bus service routes.
The majority of the tweaks related to a re-adjustment in frequency during the late evenings and weekends where demand is low.
Route 13 has been split into two routes - route 13 continues to start its journey from Baħar ic-Cagħaq whilst route 13A starts its journey from Pembroke. Frequency between these two routes remaines unchanged.
Routes 130 and 83 had their frequency halved.
Route 31 has also reduced from three to two buses an hour from 7pm onwards.
Frequency has been increased on only one service with the introduction of a 5.30am trip on route 80.
The changes are the following:
Route 63 (Qormi – Valletta) to operate at new times at 29 and 59 minutes past the hour.
Route 13 (Valletta - Baħar iċ-Ċagħaq via Sliema and St. Julian’s) to operate every 20 minutes in peak time and every 30 minutes off peak time.
Route 13A (Valletta - Pembroke Park & Ride via Sliema and St. Julian’s) is a new route that will operate from Valletta to Pembroke Park & Ride every 20 minutes in peak time and every 30 minutes off peak time. Routes 13 and 13A will be providing a combined frequency of 10 minutes along all the areas in Sliema and St. Julian’s.
Route 122 (Valletta - Mater Dei) to operate every 30 minutes from Monday to Friday, and every 60 minutes on Saturday and Sunday.
Route 130 (Valletta Waterfront) to operate every 60 minutes all day from Monday to Sunday.
Route 31 (Valletta - Buġibba) to operate every 30 minutes after 7pm on Monday to Saturday and all day on Sunday.
Route 103 (Bidnija - Pembroke Park & Ride) to terminate at Naxxar on the last two trips from Monday to Friday and on Sunday all day. The last trip from Bidnija towards Pembroke will depart at 5.15pm in both directions. The last two trips from Bidnija to Naxxar will depart at 6:15pm and 7.15pm, and in opposite direction the last two trips will depart at 6.40pm and 7.40pm respectively.
Route 83 (Valletta - Santa Luċija) to operate every 60 minutes all day on Saturday and Sunday.
Route 80 (Valletta – Birzebbuġa) to have an additional trip from Birzebbuġa at 5:50 am on Saturday and Sunday.
