Just as Simon Busuttil’s mask of ‘honesty and transparency in politics’ has fallen in a dramatic way after the allegations of funding by the db Group, so has Marlene Farrugia’s mask of being an ‘independent’ politician fallen as a result of her participation in Xarabank on March 10.
The hysterics displayed by the former Labour MP left me with no doubt whatsoever that she had remained a PN disciple even when she had contested the 2013 election with Labour. I am morally convinced that Dr Farrugia used Labour as a stepping stone to be elected to Parliament.
I believe that this so-called ‘coaliton’ which Dr Farrugia is seeking with the PN is no coalition at all. It is just Dr Farrugia returning to her pet party, but hoping to play a much more important role in the PN, especially now that Dr Busuttil’s future as PN leader looks bleak in the wake of the funding allegations.
I believe Dr Farrugia’s secret ambition is to finally take over the leadership of the PN. I also believe that PN voters will give her a big lesson – that she can’t be trusted by them.
