An exhibition of artistic ephemeral art (infiorata) was held in Victoria over the past weekend. The floral carpets exhibition, inaugurated by Gozo Minister Anton Refalo, was organised by the Alfombristas International Commission of Ephemeral Art. The project was held in conjunction with the conference of the Peripheral Maritime Regions of Europe. Around 100 alfombristas from Spain, Italy, Belgium and Malta created 10 carpets along the street leading up to the Citadel in Victoria. Nine of the carpets had the shape of a petal, while the 10th included the flag of the European Community with the institutional logos of the Gozo Ministry, the Malta EU Presidency and the CPMR.
