A total of 28 voluntary organisations are benefitting from an €850,000 fund supervised by the Malta Community Chest Fund Foundation.

The contract binds the NGOs to carry out social projects over a period of two years. The beneficiaries received 40 per cent of the funds on contract with the remainder being given upon presentation of an annual report.

Fund chairman Carmel Borg said the beneficiaries were all registered and had to undergo a thorough process of evaluation.

President Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca underlined the fact the projects were tied to the UN's sustainable development goals.

The list of beneficiaries is found here.
