Ħamrun 1
St Andrews 1
Ħamrun Spartans and St Andrews took a point each after a 1-1 draw at the Hibs Stadium.
The Spartans took just 16 minutes to take the lead.
Karl Micallef pounced on a poor clearance by the St Andrews defence to hit a firm shot from the edge of the area that gave no chance to St Andrews goalkeeper Jake Galea.
St Andrews came more into the picture in the second half and managed to draw level with their first attempt at goal.
They were awarded a free-kick from which Ivan Paz’s inswinger came off the post and in came Enmy Pena Beltre who stabbed the ball past Spartans goalkeeper David Cassar.
The Saints almost struck again minutes later but were unlucky to see efforts by Kyrian Nwoko and Aidan Friggieri coming off the upright.
The result left St Andrews and Ħamrun Spartans tied in eighth place on 28 points.
