The first anniversary of the death of Archbishop Emeritus Joseph Mercieca will be marked with Mass at the Mdina Catedral on Monday at 6pm, led by Archbishop Charles Scicluna.

At the end of the Mass, the Archbishop will bless Mgr Mercieca's grave at the cathedral.

On Tuesday, the day of the anniversary, Mgr Scicluna will celebrate Mass at the Curia's chapel in Floriana. It will be followed by a commemorative ceremony that will include a speech by vicar-general Joe Galea Curmi and footage of Mgr Mercieca.

The children's choir of St Francis Primary School in Cospicua will take part. During the activity, a book on Mgr Mercieca Ragħaj għal kull staġun (A shepherd for every season) by Charles Buttigieg, will be launched.

The late Archbishop Mercieca died on March 21, aged 87.
