The Espresso series in the Gaulitana festival is presenting lunchtime concerts for civil servants and the public. Today’s concert, entitled The Recorder: A Journey, will showcase the talents of Romeo Emanuele Ciuffa, who will be performing works by Jacob van Eyck, Georg P. Telemann and Jean D. Braun.

Ciuffa’s concert activity and personal insight into the historical aspects of music allowed him to study different styles, starting from traditional chamber and solo repertoire to ancient music, specifically related to the 17th and 18th centuries.

In 1997, he founded the Cappella Musicale Enrico Stuart with whom he recorded four CDs of excerpts from the 17th-century Roman period and 18th-century European music pieces. He also had the opportunity to approach the 17th- and 18th- century French vocal-instrumental repertoire by recording independently many masses, motets and cantatas by Charpentier, Delelande, Rameau, Boismortier and others. In 2006, he obtained his academic degree in musicology at the University of Rome Tor Vergata with the highest distinction.
