The annual rate of inflation as measured by the Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices last month went down to 1.2%, from 1.4% registered in January.

The National Statistics Office said that the monthly rate of inflation in February rose to 0.4%, up from -1.1% in January.

The largest upward impacts were mainly due to higher prices of vegetables, home furniture and accommodation services.

The largest downward impacts were mainly due to package holidays, mobile phones and garments respectively.

The 12-month moving average rate for February remained at a constant rate of 1%.
