Birkirkara will be without striker Gonzalo Malan for the Premier League clash against Sliema Wanderers as the Uruguayan was suspended by the MFA Disciplinary Commissioner yesterday.

Malan picked up his fourth booking of the season during his team win over Ħamrun Spartans and will be forced to sit out his team’s next Premier League match against Sliema Wanderers at the National Stadium on Saturday.

Floriana striker Ignacio Varela and defender Enzo Ruiz were also sanctioned with a one-match ban for four bookings and will  both sit out of the Greens match against Tarxien Rainbows on Saturday.

The other Premier League players to receive a one-match suspension yesterday were Gżira defender Clifford Gatt Baldacchino and Pembroke goalkeeper Matthew Calleja Cremona.
