BUTTIGIEG. On March 13, at Mater Dei Hospital, NERIKU of Valletta, residing in Gżira, aged 82, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Doreen, his children Vincent, Diane and her husband Norbert, Gerald, and Darren and his wife Karen, his grandchildren  Conrad, Leanne, Jan, Aiden and Hailey, his in-laws, their families, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 1.30pm for Our Lady of Mount Carmel parish church Gżira where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2pm followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

CAMILLERI. On March 14, at Mount Carmel Hospital, Attard, PAULINE, née Ellul, of Rabat, aged 72, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband Freddy, her children Brian and his wife Nathaline, David, Lorna and her partner Dimitru, Ivan and his partner Olivier, her grandchildren Manuella and Tudor, her brother and sisters, in-laws, other relatives and friends. Funeral Mass will be said tomorrow, Friday, March 17 at 3.30pm at Ta’ Ġieżu church, Rabat, followed by interment at Santa Margherita Cemetery, Rabat. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

CURMI. On March 13, at Mater Dei Hospital, CARMENA, née Pulis of Siġġiewi, aged 81, was reunited with her late husband Louis after a short series of complications. She leaves to mourn her loss her daughters Winnie Alfrida and her husband Karmenu, Maryanne and her husband Joseph and Josette and her husband Christopher, her siblings Salvina, Georgia, Nicholas, Mary, Lawrence and Toni, grandchildren Norman and his wife Karin, Sandro and his wife Fouzia, Lydon, Malcolm and Christian Bernard, her great- grandchildren Omar, Michael and Nina Maria and other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today for St Nicholas parish church, Siġġiewi, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 3.30pm. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

SCHEMBRI. On March 9, under tragic circumstances, M. LOURDES, aged 70. She leaves to mourn her loss her brother John, relatives and friends. Mass præsente cadavere will be said on Friday, March 17 at 2.30pm at St Cajetan parish church, Ħamrun, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

SCHRANZ. On March 14, MARY, née Bugeja, widow of George, aged 84, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her great loss her children, Claire Zammit, Bernard, Kenneth, Celine and Paolo, her most treasured grandchildren Julian and his girlfriend Antoinette, and Corinne, her sisters  Josephine Waite, Olympia and her husband John Theuma, and Dorothy and her husband Laurence Cachia, Vincent Mangion widower of her sister Rose, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral cortége leaves Mater Dei Hospital, today at 1.45pm for Santa Luċija parish church, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2.30pm, followed by interment in the family vault at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery.  No flowers by request but donations to the Poor Clares Monastery, St Julian’s will be appreciated. The family would like to thank the management and staff at Zammit Clapp Nursing Home for their care and dedication towards Mary during the last few years. In accordance with mum’s wish and as a reflection of her positive outlook on life, mourners are invited to wear a splash of colour  over black. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

Requiem Mass

Tomorrow being the trigesima die since the passing away of DORIS FARRUGIA, a Mass for the repose of her soul will be celebrated at 6pm at St Patrick church, Sliema. The attendance of relatives and friends will be appreciated.

In Memoriam

GAUCI MAISTRE. In loving memory of MARIE ROSETTE, today being the 11th anniversary of her death. Fondly remembered by her brothers, sisters-in-law, nephews and nieces. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

Nine-hour fasting

A nine-hour fasting, praying and penitence marathon will be held at the parish centre, St John the Baptist Street, Sliema, in aid of Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, on Sunday March 26.

There will be Mass, counselling, talks, power points and video presentations. The sacrament of reconciliation will be administered  by Fr Paul Camilleri.

The public is being urged to attend and participate.
