Not long ago, the mayor of Balzan (Ian Spiteri), openly suggested, that the money collected from the contraventions issued by wardens, should go to local councils, and these in turn, should be used to repair and properly maintain the terrible roads we have on the island. I have no idea where this money ends up these days, however, this is indeed a very good idea, in that the councils will be able to attend to the upkeep of our roads more efficiently than what is happening today, which is practically nothing!
