Recently, there has been some talk of coalitions and alliances. In my time, I remember of a really strange but vital coalition or alliance: this was when the Christian West democracies forged an alliance with an atheist dictatorship.

It was deemed imperative that Nazism had to be crushed – and the alliance took place at Yalta between Churchill and Roosevelt and Stalin.

Strange alliance but it was felt necessary.
