Suso: Milan confirmed that attacking midfielder Suso has been diagnosed with a lesion to the left thigh muscle and he could be out for several weeks depending on the severity of the injury. Suso tried to make a swift comeback from injury ahead of last Friday’s match against Juventus but it seems that he has aggravated the problem.

Derby: Steve McClaren, the former England head coach, has been sacked as manager of Championship side Derby County for the second time in three years, the second-tier club announced yesterday. McClaren’s second spell at the Midlands club, whose challenge to get back into the Premier League has slumped dramatically, was ended after just five months following Derby’s 3-0 defeat at second-placed Brighton  on Friday.

Vinicius: Hungary have called up Brazilian-born defender Paulo Vinicius for their World Cup qualifier against European champions Portugal on March 25. Vinicius, who received dual citizenship on March 10 and has been playing for 2015 Hungarian champions Videoton for the past six years, was included in coach Bernd Storck’s 27-man squad for the Group B match in Lisbon. 

Hategan: Romanian official Ovidiu Hategan has been assigned to control tomorrow’s Champions League last 16 second leg between Juventus and Porto in Turin. The Italian champions are leading 2-0 from the first leg. Hategan’s last match involving an Italian side was in November when Napoli drew 0-0 with Dinamo Kiev.

China League: Dragan Stojkovic’s Guangzhou R&F beat Changchun Yatai 1-0 yesterday to join Shanghai SIPG and Shandong Luneng as the only teams with maximum points after two rounds of matches in the Chinese Super League. Junior Urso scored the only goal of the game as R&F notched a second straight win after defeating Tianjin on the opening day of the season.
