Obituaries
AZZOPARDI. On March 11, at Roseville home, Attard, ANNIE, aged 80, passed peacefully away, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her family, relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Roseville tomorrow Monday, March 13, for St Publius parish church, Floriana, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 9am, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be greatly appreciated. Lord grant her eternal rest.
BORG. On March 11, at Mater Dei Hospital, GEORGE, aged 89, from Siġġiewi and residing in Balzan, widower of Rita, née Muscat, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved children Carmen and her husband Karmenu, Manuel and his wife Marianne and Nicholas, his grandchildren Fr Blake Camilleri, Claudia and her boyfriend Saviour, Alison her husband Josef, Sara Helen and her husband Craig, his great-grandchildren Sierra Rose and Alessia, his brother in-law Wenzu and his wife Carmena Muscat, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. A funeral celebration will take place tomorrow, Monday, March 13, leaving Mater Dei Hospital at 8am for Mass praesentae cadavere at Annunciation parish church, Balzan, at 8.30am, followed by interment at Balzan cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be greatly appreciated. The family regret they are unable to receive visitors.
FORD – CHRISTINE, née Spibey, of Golborne, UK, 1948-2017. On February 27, after a long illness bravely fought. Dearly loved by many and especially her husband, Dr Michael Ford and sister, Miss Susan Spibey. She will be sadly missed. Chris taught British Service children at Mtarfa and St Andrew’s schools from 1972 to 1978. Malta always had a very special place in her big heart. During her working years, in Malta, Chris formed lifelong friendships with Maltese colleagues and British educators. Until recently, she worked voluntarily, as a leading light in the BFES-SCEA Association. The funeral takes place in the UK on Tuesday, March 14. Safe onward Chris, from Mike, Susan and all of us at Malta BFPO 1972-1978.
