A new hearing loop system for the deaf was inaugurated at Ta’ Pinu Sanctuary before Mass led by Gozo Bishop Mario Grech with the participation of members of the Gozo Association of the Deaf and the Deaf People Association of Malta.

The new system, inaugurated by Parliamentary Secretary Justyne Caruana, magnetically transmit sound to hearing aids and cochlear implants with wireless loudspeakers, delivering a clear customised sound.

Hearing-impaired people, who followed the Mass via a live broadcast on TVM2, were also able to follow the service with sign language.
