CALLUS. On March 9, at Mater Dei Hospital, ANTOINETTE, former nurse at St Luke’s and Mount Carmel hospitals, aged 63, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband Leonard (journalist), her children Carine and her husband Joeal and Ryan Callus, MP, and his wife Maria, her niece Lorraine Mallia, her nephew Joseph and his wife Ritianne and their children Lucas, Francesca and Elanya, her in-laws Kittie, Nicolina, Nicholas and Mary, their husbands and wives, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow, Saturday, March 11 at 2.15pm for St Nicholas parish church, Siġġiewi, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 3pm, followed by interment in the family grave at Siġġiewi cemetery. Donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be greatly appreciated. The family regret they are unable to receive visitors. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

VELLA. On March 9, AGNES, aged 87, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church and surrounded by her loving family. She leaves to mourn her loss her beloved sisters Maria, widow of Carmelo Abela, and Josephine, her brother Vanni and his wife Greta, her nieces and nephews and their spouses, Sandra and Joe, Angie, Adrian and Lorraine, Patrick, Francesca and Edward, and their children Michaela, Samira, Rachel, Carla, Pawlu and Daniel. The funeral cortège leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow, Saturday, March 11 for Balzan parish church where Mass præsente cadavere will be celebrated at 8.30am, followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Science shows for children and adults

On Saturday, the team behind Science in the City is hosting two events in collaboration with The Big Van Theory, whose mission is to bring science to the public through comedy and laughter.

The first event, Clowntifics, will be held from 5 to 6pm at the Malta Society of Arts, Valletta.  This interactive show for children aged four to 11, combines clowns, comedy and experiments to help children explore the wonders of science.

Entrance is against a donation of €5 per person at the door. The second event, The Big Van Theory Monologues, will take place from 8.30 to 9.30pm at the Royal British Legion, Valletta.

This show is targeted at adults and will be presenting topics such as genetically modified organisms, evolution and pathogenic bacteria.
