Pawlett: Aberdeen midfielder Peter Pawlett will join Sky Bet League One club MK Dons on a two-year deal in the summer. The 26-year-old has made over 200 appearances for Aberdeen, 18 of which have come this season. “I’m delighted to sign for MK Dons,” Pawlett told mkdons.com. “I think it’s the right time in my career to come down to England.”

Rangers: Rangers have moved a major step closer to appointing a new manager after main target Pedro Caixinha was granted permission by his club to move to Glasgow. Qatar Stars League side Al Gharafa announced  they had agreed a deal to release the Portuguese coach from his contract. Caixinha could now arrive in Scotland to finalise terms with Rangers ahead of Sunday’s trip to Celtic.

Newport: Newport have sacked manager Graham Westley and placed first-team coach Michael Flynn in caretaker charge until the end of the season. A statement confirmed Westley had been “relieved of his first-team duties with immediate effect”, with County looking doomed to relegation.  County have won just once in 20 matches and sit bottom of the English Football League, 11 points adrift of safety.

Davies: Tottenham defender Ben Davies has signed a new contract until 2021, the club have announced. Davies joined Spurs from Swansea in July 2014 and has made 43 Premier League appearances for Mauricio Pochettino’s side. The 23-year-old has played second fiddle to Danny Rose for much of his time at White Hart Lane but has started the last four league games while Rose has been out with a knee injury.

Fined: Bournemouth have been fined £35,000 after accepting a charge from the Football Association for a breach of anti-doping rules. The Premier League club faced sanctions after breaking regulations on providing accurate ‘club whereabouts’ information.  Last month, Manchester City were fined the same amount and also given a warning following similar breaches of the anti-doping code.
