These are just a few of the sentiments Chev. John Giordimaina O.S.C.I. holds very dearly. Played by veteran actor Mikhail Basmadjian, the Kavallier will be brought to life for audiences at the Sir Temi Zammit Hall, University of Malta on March 18, 19, 24, 25 and 26.

Unifaun producer, Adrian Buckle said: “Kavallier is in the same vein as Nanna Genoveffa and Il-Giddieb Għomru Qasir. I don't think we are betraying our roots by producing this play because at the end of the day, what Unifaun wants is to produce quality plays, and we believe that you can find quality even in comedy."

Buckle says Zahra writes about Maltese society with tongue in cheek humour and with great clarity.

"Kavallier John Giordimaina is an embodiment of the Maltese male. He believes he can talk about anything, he believes he is right about everything and he believes no one else is as clever as he is... with comic consequences.”

Under the direction of Josette Ciappara, the cast of Il-Mitt Fehma tal-Kavallier John Giordimaina O.S.C.I. comprises of Mikhail Basmadjian as the title character, together with veteran actors Mary Rose Mallia, Anthony Ellul and Simon Curmi, together with Christine Francalanza, Andre Mangion and Graziella Galea.  Trevor Zahra himself completes the cast in a cameo role where he plays himself opposite the Kavallier, trying to put a word in for the Maltese Language.

Tickets can be obtained from www.ticketline.com.mt or from Embassy Cinemas, Valletta.  For more information call 7905 6558.
