BARTOLO. On March 8, LINO, aged 98, passed away peacefully at his residence, comforted by the rites of Holy Church and surrounded by his loving family. He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved sons Noel and his wife Maryrose, Kenneth and his wife Frances, and Daniel and his wife Doreen, his grandchildren Maria-Chiara and her fiancé Neville, Andrew, Keith and his wife Kyra, Neal and his wife Daphne, Francesco and his wife Leanne, Samwel and Tamara. The funeral cortège leaves Mater Dei Hospital today, Thursday, March 9 at 2pm for St Venera church (knisja l-qadima) where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2.30pm, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. GRECH. On March 6, CONCETTA (Ċettina), at the venerable age of 98, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her sister-in-law Rosie, her nieces and nephew Veronica, Bernard and his wife Sheila, Marie Jeanne and Elizabeth, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow, Friday, March 10 at 9.15am for Our Lady of Victories (Marija Bambina) Basilica, Senglea, where Mass præsente cadavere will be celebrated at 10am, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Lord, grant her eternal rest. The family would like to thank the staff at Msida home for the elderly and at Ward M2, Mater Dei Hospital for their care and support.
SCICLUNA. On March 7, at Casa Antonia, Balzan, GEORGE SCICLUNA, LP, of Valletta, aged 89, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Maria, his daughters Hermione and Predrag, Matilde and Claude, his grandchildren Nikola, Mariah, Zoë, Aleksa and Bo, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Casa Antonia today, Thursday, March 9 at 1.30pm for St Paul Shipwrecked collegiate parish church, Valletta, where Mass will be celebrated at 2pm, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Żejtun-Marsaxlokk walk postponed
The Ramblers’ Association’s planned walk around Żejtun and Marsaxlokk scheduled for Sunday has been postponed to a later date as the walk leader is indisposed. The association and the leader regret any inconvenience caused.
Another walk is being held on Sunday, starting at the Menqa in Marsalforn, Gozo, at 9.15am, as part of the association’s Gozo Weekend. All are invited to join the walk, which will be an easy one.
