Tennis: Tennis Australia president Steve Healy has announced his decision to step down next month to pursue business interests and will initially be replaced in the role by Chris Freeman. Healy, who joined Tennis Australia in 2008 and was elected president two years later, was last year appointed the Australia region CEO and chairman of partners of global law firm Dentons. Vice president Freeman will take over as interim chairman until October, when a new chairman will be elected at the Tennis Australia annual general meeting.

Doping: The International Skiing Federation (FIS) asked for the 13-month doping ban on Norwegian cross-country skier and Olympic champion Therese Johaug to be increased, it said yesterday. Johaug, who won the World Cup in 2014 and 2016 and has also won seven world championship titles and three Olympic medals, tested positive for the banned anabolic steroid clostebol last September. The 28-year-old said she tested positive after using a cream to treat her sunburned lips bought by her doctor at an Italian pharmacy.

Boxing: Britain’s former world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury has said he will make a comeback against an unnamed opponent in May, even though he is under a provisional suspension from the sport. “Breaking news. Return of the MAC. May 13, working on an opponent, more news to follow,” he tweeted. The 28-year-old has not fought since beating Ukrainian Wladimir Klitschko to become world champion in November 2015. He vacated his WBO and WBA belts last year, revealing he was seeking medical help, after saying that he had taken cocaine to help his depression.

Basketball, NBA: Australian center Andrew Bogut suffered a fractured left tibia just 58 seconds into his Cleveland Cavaliers debut on Monday, with the team reporting that he could be out for the rest of the season. The 32-year-old signed as a free agent with Cleveland for the remainder of the campaign last week. However, with 11:38 left in the second quarter, Bogut ran out to the perimeter to guard Miami’s Okaro White and the pair made contact, with the Australian landing badly on his left ankle.
