In this country there are criminals who have grudges and know well how to plant bombs in cars. We know they are not terrorists but car bombings, like the one in which a Floriana man lost both legs (picture above), are no cause for contentment.

I appeal to the criminal fraternity in Malta to desist from planting explosive devices in cars because, when these blow up, they put innocent men, women and children in manifest danger.

If people have scores to settle, it should be done far away from children. They should preferably seek the intervention of the police, though that seems something of a flight of fancy. Not to say anything on the damage it can cause to the tourism industry if a tourist is injured or killed.

This spate of bombings must stop. Please stop it now and keep explosive mixtures where they properly belong: in fireworks factories and within the confines of safely-organised public firework displays.
