• A blood donation session will be held at Gozo General Hospital Outpatients Department today from 8am to 1pm.

• Swallows and Amazons will be screened at Don Bosco Oratory, Victoria, today at 5.30pm. Moana will be screened on Saturday (Children’s Cinema Day) at 2pm and 4pm.

• Il-Fergha Ewkaristika (Għawdex) will hold an hour of adoration at Our Lady of Pompeii church, Victoria, on Thursday from 9 to 10am. The rosary will be recited at 8.45am. Everyone is invited.

• The Malta Medical Students Association will be hosting its first edition of Gozo Healthy at Arkadia Commercial Centre on Saturday from 9am to 2pm. Organised by medical students, the association’s aim is to promote a healthy lifestyle while offering the public free check-ups of blood pressure, blood glucose and body mass index.

• The Federazzjoni Maltija Vetturi Antiki will once again be organising the Mġarr to Mġarr Vintage Motors Festival on Saturday and next Sunday. The event is being supported by the Gozo Ministry and various local councils in Malta and Gozo. The Malta leg will start on Saturday at 2pm in Mġarr with a half-way halt in Wied iż-Żurrieq and will finish near the Selmun Palace in Mellieħa at around 4pm. The Gozo event gets underway next Sunday morning at 10am from the Marsalforn car park with a half-way halt at Dwejra upper car park and will finish at the Mġarr Yacht Marina. There will be static shows at the above places as well as at Qala, Xagħra and Għajnsielem.

• The Friends of the Sick and Elderly (Gozo) will be organising a charity sale at the Victoria football ground (next to the car park) next Sunday from 7.30am to 1pm. Admission fee is €10 per space, which will be paid on the day. •  The Lent retreat for members of the Padre Pio prayer groups and other devotees of the saint will be held next Sunday at Our Lady of Graces sanctuary, Victoria. Fr Remigio Galea will celebrate Mass at 9am assisted by Fr Carmelo Dimech, the national director of the prayer groups. After a coffee break Fr Dimech will deliver a talk on St Pio’s virtues. The retreat will end with the reciting of Padre Pio’s reflections on the Via Crucis. Dinner will be held at Down Town Hotel, Victoria. All members and devotees are invited to attend.
