These are the leading stories in today's local newspapers.

The Times of Malta leads with news that an inquiry has found that it could not exclude the possibility that an investigation into money laundering was stopped abruptly because PN deputy leader Beppe Fenech Adami's name cropped up.

In a secondary story, the newspaper cites a KPMG report which finds that Malta is among a small group of nations that stands to lose the most if economic relations with the UK are damaged by Brexit.

The Malta Independent gives prominence to news that Panama Papers law firm Mossack Fonseca has quit New Zealand, with the paper saying the firm's business there had dwindled following the data leak scandal.

News that the CapitalOne inquiry has been referred to the police and FIAU is also highlighted.

L-Orizzont leads with news that soldiers are to be paid overtime for extra hours worked during Malta's presidency of the EU Council. News about the inquiry into Capital One and Dr Fenech Adami's involvement also makes the front page.

In-Nazzjon quotes PN deputy leader Mario de Marco as promising a level playing for businesses if the PN were to be elected into government.

In a secondary story, the paper quotes Dr Fenech Adami as saying the inquiry into Capital One has confirmed that he never got involved.
