Hibernians FC's hopes of winning the premier league have been dealt a blow after the Malta Football Association protests board turned down rejected their claims concerning their 3-3 draw with Ħamrun Spartans.

Hibs had challenged the eligibility of Spartans goalkeeper Batusila Kambala, but the MFA protests board rejected their claim at a hearing yesterday.

The ruling means that the result of the Hibernians-Ħamrun game is to stand.
